As in any warm climate, light cotton clothing is recommended, as well comfortable shoes for travelling.On the Cape and in the Highveld – Johannesburg – evenings and early mornings may
become quite cool, and warm clothing is an absolute must. When hiking in a game reserve, wear camouflage colours ( brown, khaki ) in order to keep you from being too noticeable to the animals ; flies and insects are more attracted to white or colourful clothing. Long sleeved shirts are also a good protection again insects bites and sun UV. |
